Idaho Investment Property

There are many different ways of investing your money to get it to grow. There are different kinds of stocks you can buy, different kinds of bonds, different kinds of businesses, and different kinds of real estate to purchase. Each of these forms of investing has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. There simply is not a "one size fits all." In every case, the investor is wise to compare the pros and the cons with your own set of likes and dislikes and proceed with what fits you the best.

Different Kinds of Idaho Real Estate Investments

Within the realm of Idaho real estate investment, there are many types of real estate investing. These types fall into one of the following three categories:

Speculative properties

This is placing your money in anticipation of significant event to cause the value to rise. For example: You purchase a piece of land in the path of growth anticipating that it will rise in value as the growth surrounds your land; or you purchase investment property at the bottom of a growth cycle anticipating that the prices will rise thus increasing the value of your investment.

Income properties

Placing your money into an investment property that pays out a stream of income. Like owning a goose that lays golden eggs. You feed it, care for it and keep it healthy and it lays eggs made of gold.

Value-added properties

With value-added properties, you are taking an investment property, and with time and money improving it to bring a higher value. For example: You purchase Idaho fixer-upper homes and put in new floor coverings, new landscaping, new paint and new appliances to resell for a higher price.

Which type of investment is best for you? ... you must decide. Spending time with an experienced real estate investment advisor will help you make this decision and will pay off big-time.

Investment property types

Within the above three categories of investment property are the following types of properties. Each has its place in the investor's portfolio, depending upon experience level, investment objectives, and capital available for real estate investment.

  • Single family rental properties
  • Multi-family rental properties (duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and apartment buildings)
  • Strip malls
